The Aloft North Kansas City is seeking an experienced, energetic, and guest-focused Bartender to join our WXYZ Bar team. We are looking for hospitality-driven individuals who can provide an elevated lounge and cocktail experience while creating a welcoming, upscale atmosphere for hotel guests and local visitors alike.
This is not a standard bar environment — we are looking for bartenders who understand hospitality, professionalism, responsible alcohol service, and the importance of creating memorable guest experiences through both service and atmosphere.
The ideal candidate is confident behind the bar, comfortable engaging with guests, knowledgeable in cocktails and beverage service, and thrives in a fast-paced yet polished hotel environment.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and other beverages to guests
• Deliver exceptional guest service with a friendly, professional, and polished demeanor
• Create a welcoming and elevated bar atmosphere aligned with the Aloft brand experience
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards throughout the bar and lounge areas
• Accurately handle cash, credit card transactions, tabs, and POS systems
• Monitor guest alcohol consumption and follow all responsible alcohol service guidelines and liquor laws
• Assist guests with menu recommendations and local area knowledge
• Complete opening and closing duties, including liquor security and inventory procedures
• Work collaboratively with hotel leadership and other departments to enhance the guest experience

Qualifications:
• Previous bartending, cocktail lounge, hotel bar, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred
• Knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and beverage presentation
• Strong guest service and communication skills
• Professional appearance and positive attitude
• Ability to multitask and remain composed in a busy environment
• Must be dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Nights, weekends, and holidays required
• ServeSafe Alcohol Certification or equivalent preferred
• Previous bartending, cocktail lounge, hotel bar, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred
• Knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and beverage presentation
